CSZ at PARKEN 2025 – impulses for the future of parking

Parking has long been more than just a parking space – it is an integral part of modern infrastructure planning.”- Karsten Dobner, Project Manager Construction Engineering at CSZ.

The PARKEN 2025 trade fair took place on June 25 and 26 at the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) in Wiesbaden and celebrated its 30th anniversary. As the only trade fair in Germany dedicated entirely to the topic of parking, it offers a comprehensive overview of current developments, innovative technologies and forward-looking concepts in the field of stationary traffic. A CSZ team including Karsten Dobner and Daniel Pister (Managing Engineer Construction Engineering) took the opportunity to engage in an intensive professional exchange and discuss the most important challenges and trends in the industry.

Here are the two CSZ experts’ key insights from their visit to the trade fair:

– Future-oriented concepts for the planning, construction and operation of modern parking facilities
– Technological innovations in the field of parking management
– Concrete food for thought for integrated and sustainable infrastructure planning
– Current developments in regulation and standardization
– Valuable contacts with construction companies and system manufacturers

PARKEN 2025 impressively demonstrated how dynamically the area of stationary traffic is developing and what a central role well thought-out parking concepts play in traffic and urban planning today. For a sustainable infrastructure, it is crucial to actively shape these developments and integrate innovative solutions at an early stage.

A day for a good cause – Mr. Irendeli volunteers at CSZ Darmstadt

A day for a good cause – Mr. Irendeli volunteers at CSZ Darmstadt

On 24 June, Mr. Irendeli spent a special day at CSZ Darmstadt – not only to learn, but also to do good. He received remuneration for his work, all of which will be donated to charity.

Mr. Irendeli had already gained an insight into various areas of the company during his two-week student internship at CSZ. It quickly became clear that he was interested in becoming a draughtsman. On his own initiative, he asked if he could work at CSZ again for a day. This day gave him the opportunity to get to know the team of draughtsmen better and gain practical experience. Under supervision, he took on his first tasks with programs such as Revit and AutoCAD. The result was an ideal mix of practical learning, work experience and social commitment – because his efforts benefit a good cause.

CSZ supports this initiative with great commitment. The campaign is part of the “Aktion Tagwerk: Dein Einsatz zeigt Wirkung” campaign, which is recommended by the Ministry of Education and aims to establish the day of action as a fixed part of the school year. The proceeds from the campaign will go towards long-term projects in Rwanda and Uganda, which will be implemented together with the Human Help Network e.V. and local partners. For CSZ, the combination of promoting young talent and social commitment is a matter close to its heart.

LOOP5 – How engineers make Germany’s first retail entertainment shopping center possible

LOOP5 – How engineers make Germany’s first retail entertainment shopping center possible

What happens when shopping meets adrenaline? At LOOP5 in Weiterstadt near Darmstadt, this question has been answered impressively: The former shopping center has been transformed into Germany’s first retailtainment shopping center – a place where shopping becomes an attraction. With highlights such as the 16-metre-high Free-Fall Tower, impressive slides and a climbing course, LOOP5 delights families, adventure-seekers and shopping fans alike.

Behind the successful implementation was a complex engineering task. The CSZ team was respon-sible for structural design and building physics consulting right from the start. The challenge: to safely integrate new worlds of experience into the existing building – and to do so during ongoing operations.

Hamed Mohsenzadegan, Managing Engineer Construction Engineering at CSZ, was involved in the project from the outset and provides valuable insights in this interview:

  • Technical challenges: How large ceiling breakthroughs, new loads and the combination of differ-ent materials placed special demands on the structural design.
  • Innovative structural solutions: Which new construction methods, materials and designs were used to implement the retailtainment concept in a technically safe and flexible way.
  • Teamwork is key: why close collaboration with architects, technical building services, lighting de-sign and other specialist disciplines was crucial in order to implement safe and flexible solutions under time pressure.

👉  The interview provides practical inspiration – ideal for engineers, planners and anyone interest-ed in sophisticated structural design and future-oriented retail architecture.

CSZ Green Engineering – Part 2: Sustainable planning with LCA, LCCA & ESG

CSZ Green Engineering – Part 2: Sustainable planning with LCA, LCCA & ESG

We use LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and LCCA (Life-cycle cost analysis) to analyze projects holistically – from planning to dismantling. This creates transparency, meets international standards (DGNB, LEED, EU taxonomy) and strengthens investment security.

🌱 We see sustainability not as an obligation, but as an opportunity: for more transparency, better quality and long-term benefits – ecologically, economically and socially.

🎬 What can you expect in video 2?

  • Why sustainable planning starts before the first line is drawn,
  • How we create measurable sustainability with LCA, LCCA & ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria,
  • Why certifications are more than just a label – and offer real added value.
  • ➡ Take a look now: compact, well-founded and with practical insights into our work at CSZ Green Engineering.

CSZ Hamburg | Structural planning for the new construction of the Nienburg fire station

An important infrastructure project for the district of Nienburg
In the Lemke industrial estate in the district of Nienburg, a modern fire department technical center (FTZ) will be built by the end of 2027, which is scheduled to go into operation at the beginning of 2028. The new building will include vehicle and logistics halls, workshops and a state-of-the-art training facility for respiratory protection. The site will also be used to house the veterinary and food monitoring departments. Further areas are planned for the fire protection and rescue services as well as logistics areas for civil protection and disaster control.

Archaeological investigations and construction process
The project started back in November 2024 with the preparation earthworks. Due to the historical significance of the site, archaeological investigations were carried out in order to secure possible finds and not delay the construction process. Once this work has been completed, the other construction phases can begin without restrictions. The civil engineering work for drainage will start in July 2025, followed by the shell construction work in September. Completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2027.

Modern architecture and sustainable construction
The new building complex is designed as a U-shaped courtyard, which enables efficient use and short distances. The architecture, for which agn Niederberghaus & Partner GmbH is responsible, provides a hall for vehicles, workshops, training rooms and an extensive office and training area. There is a particular focus on sustainable construction methods: The facades are made of typical regional masonry, green roofs ensure an improved climate and a photovoltaic system on the main vehicle hall contributes to energy generation. Heating is provided by an environmentally friendly air/water heat pump.

CSZ Hamburg – partner for structural design
The architecture, building physics and fire protection of this pioneering project are in the hands of agn Niederberghaus & Partner GmbH, while CSZ Hamburg is responsible for the structural design. We are delighted to be part of a committed planning team and are looking forward to the construction phase with great anticipation. We will continue to keep you regularly informed about the progress of the project.
