CSZ regulars’ table: networking, learning, experiencing practice

CSZ regulars’ table: networking, learning, experiencing practice

On Thursday, August 21, the first CSZ regulars’ table kicked off with an exciting topic: load transfer in Sofistik. The event was initiated by the management. Matthias Niebling, Managing Engineer, and Miriam Schuster, Project Manager Structural Design, took responsibility and organized the kick-off.

Around 20 engineers from various locations—on site in Darmstadt and online from Germany and Canada—took the opportunity to gain technical insights and network directly with each other. Matthias Niebling presented a practical concept for load transfer in Sofistik that makes everyday engineering work easier:

  • Automated procedure based on FE ceiling calculations
  • Transfer of loads to foundation components
  • Additional benefits for wall, column, and beam design
  • Verifiable documentation of results

Afterwards, the terrace of the Darmstadt office provided the perfect setting for a relaxed get-together – the ideal place to round off the evening with personal conversations and a relaxed atmosphere. But the CSZ regulars’ table is more than just professional input: it thrives on personal exchange, sharing experiences, and learning together across locations and disciplines. Following this successful start, the regulars’ table will take place regularly every 2 to 4 weeks in the future.

🤝 Special thanks go to the management, who provided cool drinks and snacks – perfect for rounding off the first evening in good company.
💡 Practical benefits: Less effort, more verifiability – exactly what engineers need in their everyday work.

Experience knowledge live: CSZ engineers on an excursion to the Central Business Tower Frankfurt

Experience knowledge live: CSZ engineers on an excursion to the Central Business Tower Frankfurt

Experiencing innovations in construction up close – that was the aim of the CSZ engineers on an exclusive tour of the construction site at the Central Business Tower (CBT) in Neue Mainzer Strasse. Around 20 colleagues from Frankfurt, Hamburg and Darmstadt took the opportunity to expand their technical expertise and strengthen team cohesion.

Professional exchange with experienced partners
The tour was led by Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Seip, Managing Partner of the engineering firm Professor Dr.-Ing. Katzenbach GmbH. The internationally active firm has specialized in geotechnics and geothermal energy for over 30 years and brings extensive experience from numerous major projects in Frankfurt. The focus was on the geotechnical challenges of inner-city construction: from floor plan development and complex boundary conditions to the selection of the optimal type of foundation. This gave the team deep insights into a complex project environment. Special thanks go to Helaba (building owner) and OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH, who made the short-notice visit and the guided tour possible.

Central Business Tower – a lighthouse project for Frankfurt
With a height of 205 meters and 52 floors above ground, the CBT is one of the most striking high-rise buildings in Frankfurt. The inner-city location, five basement floors and the planning of the construction pit and foundation pose technical challenges. One highlight is the integration of a listed façade into the modern high-rise ensemble. Plinth and connecting buildings ensure a successful urban integration. Completion is planned for the end of 2028, with Commerzbank expected to be the main tenant.
The CSZ team followed the planning and execution processes on site and discussed current technical issues directly with experienced specialist planners.

Knowledge transfer as the basis for sustainable success
The excursion shows how important continuous knowledge transfer and interdisciplinary exchange are for CSZ. Cross-location networking and practical training not only strengthen our professional profile, but also cooperation in complex projects.
We are shaping the future together – with a strong team spirit and an open exchange of knowledge.

CSZ Summer Party 2025 – Celebrating and networking together

CSZ Summer Party 2025 – Celebrating and networking together

Our summer party is a highlight every year – but this time it was something very special: colleagues from Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich celebrated together!” – said Ms. Subasi (Director of CSZ Bauphysik GmbH & Co. KG / CSZ Green Engineering GmbH).

On June 13, 2025, the CSZ team gathered in the beer garden “Zum alten Forsthaus Kalkofen” in Darmstadt-Arheilgen for the summer highlight of the year. Around 100 colleagues enjoyed a varied program in the best weather, which delighted young and old alike.

A big thank you goes to everyone who made the party possible – especially to the CSZ organization team for their loving commitment, to the team of the beer garden “Zum alten Forsthaus Kalkofen” for providing the beautiful location and to Marienhof Metzgerei + Catering GmbH for the excellent food.

Personal highlights and relaxed get-togethers
A refreshing salad buffet, complemented by grilled specialties, various side dishes and an ice cream cart – perfectly matched to the summer temperatures – provided for the physical well-being.
The younger guests enjoyed craft and face painting corners, a bouncy castle and balloon animals – a special treat for the whole family.
The idea of giving away the pretty table decoration flowers with the sticker “Please take home and plant” was particularly well received – creating a lasting souvenir of the beautiful day.

Celebrating together, strengthening together
In their opening speech, Mr. Desch (authorized representative, CSZ Ingenieurconsult GmbH & Co. KG, Darmstadt) and Ms. Subasi paid tribute to the first-class achievements of the past year. They were particularly pleased about the many families who enriched the celebration with their presence. Mr. Desch warmly emphasized that the success would not have been possible without the active support of the employees’ partners and families – and that it is precisely this commitment that is being duly celebrated today.
Spending time together, enjoying good food and having inspiring conversations – these are the moments that bring our cooperation at CSZ to life and strengthen it in the long term.

#BuildingTheFutureTogether – moments like these form the cornerstone of our success.
