The new building for the Schulstraße 97 grammar school in Berlin-Mitte was officially handed over to the Mitte district on 8 July 2026. The school has been designed as a ‘compartment school’ with flexible learning areas and features two three-court sports halls arranged one above the other. The new school has capacity for 664 pupils.
The ceremony was attended by Sören Lang, Branch Manager of the CSZ Dresden branch, Ms Marion Herrmann and Mr Thomas Truxa, as well as Mohamad Hussein, Branch Manager of our Berlin branch, Ms Melda Görgil and Ms Christina Silkin-Wagner.
Together with the lead architect, our long-standing project partner a+r architekten GmbH from Stuttgart, CSZ provided the services relating to building services engineering, structural engineering and building physics. The new school building was handed over by HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH to the Berlin-Mitte district.

In a symbolic ceremony, the new Interdisciplinary Centre for Modelling and Simulation (IMoS) was handed over to the Technical University of Berlin. Mohamad Hussein, Head of CSZ Berlin, was also present at this important event. CSZ was responsible for key planning services on this forward-looking project, including the building services, structural design and project planning for the civil engineering structures and the complex excavation pit.

The keys were handed over by the Senator for Urban Development, Construction and Housing, Christian Gaebler, to the Senator for Science, Health and Care, Dr Ina Czyborra, and were finally accepted by Prof. Dr Fatma Deniz, President of TU Berlin.

Als Teil des neuen Campus Ost der TU Berlin bietet der Forschungsneubau auf rund 5.700 m² modernste Infrastruktur für interdisziplinäre Spitzenforschung. In den kommenden Monaten werden Forschende verschiedener Fachrichtungen das Gebäude beziehen und die Einrichtung der 3D-Labore sowie des Rechenzentrums vornehmen. Die feierliche offizielle Eröffnung des IMoS ist für den Spätsommer 2026 geplant.

Das IMoS wurde als Forschungsneubau gemäß Artikel 91b des Grundgesetzes mit Bundesmitteln gefördert. Ergänzend zu den Mitteln des Landes Berlin kofinanzierte die TU Berlin den Neubau mit rund 40,4 Mio. Euro. Die Gesamtkosten belaufen sich auf rund 75 Mio. Euro. CSZ ist stolz, mit seiner Expertise einen Beitrag zur erfolgreichen Realisierung dieses Leuchtturmprojekts für den Wissenschaftsstandort Berlin geleistet zu haben.
