The future up close: CSZ at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences’ Company Mile

On January 20, the CSZ team was live at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences’ Company Mile – one of the most important networking events in the region for students who want to experience companies up close. Over 350 motivated civil engineering students took the opportunity to get to know CSZ and other companies in person.

Perfect organization and a relaxed atmosphere
A big thank you to Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences! Cake, snacks, and drinks contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. This year, the company fair spanned two floors, creating more space for conversations and personal encounters.

Inspiring conversations with young talents
Our team – Gülcan Subasi (Director), Moritz Desch (Authorized Representative), Julia Saggese, Lukas Külper, and Christoph Schwinn (Project Engineers) – met many curious and open-minded students. The conversations were inspiring, engaging, and full of positive energy. It is always exciting to see how motivated young talents are about their future and enthusiastic about our industry.

Join us now: Working student positions at CSZ
The Company Mile provided the perfect platform to raise CSZ’s profile. Particularly practical: we advertised two working student positions directly on our website – so students can immediately take the next step towards practical experience.
CSZ is also already an official cooperation partner for dual study programs, enabling students to gain direct access to practical work experience.

Conclusion: A complete success
The Company Mile has once again emphasized how important practical experience is for students. For CSZ, it was a day full of exciting conversations, motivated students, and valuable impressions. We are already looking forward to the next event – and to attracting even more young talent to our projects.

💡 Tip for students: Visit our website and become part of our team – whether as a working student, for internships, or to start your career.

CSZ Structural Design and Building Physics: Groundbreaking ceremony for the extension of the Kohlheck School

CSZ Structural Design and Building Physics: Groundbreaking ceremony for the extension of the Kohlheck School

The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of a project that will strengthen education, community, and sustainability in Wiesbaden. Together with representatives of the city and planning partners, the construction of the Kohlheck School extension was officially launched.

Highlights of the project:
The primary school, which currently has three classes per grade, will be expanded to four classes per grade. Modern teaching areas, a cafeteria for around 400 children, spacious all-day rooms, and a double sports hall will be built on an area of around 3,961 m². An additional playground will extend the school grounds to the east and south, creating new areas for recreation and exercise.
There is a special focus on sustainability: photovoltaic systems, rainwater harvesting, and an air-to-water heat pump ensure energy-efficient operation and a high level of user comfort.
The extension will be constructed using solid construction methods and the sports hall will be constructed using timber. The planned rear-ventilated wooden slatted facade will create a visual unity. The entire roof of the extension will be greened. The result is a school building that demonstrates that educational spaces can be sustainable, functional, and sophisticated in design.

Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende sums up the significance: “Every investment in our schools is an investment in the future of our city.” The extension of the Kohlheck School sends a clear signal for local, climate-friendly, and future-oriented learning conditions.

CSZ is responsible for structural design and building physics and is delighted to be helping to shape modern and sustainable learning spaces in Wiesbaden with this pioneering project.

Doing good together – CSZ supports addiction support

Doing good together – CSZ supports addiction support

Instead of distributing gifts, CSZ focuses on what really matters: social engagement and supporting people in need.
The employees selected three charitable organizations to receive donations. The majority of votes went to Freundeskreis für Suchtkrankenhilfe e. V., which provides youth, drug, and addiction counseling as well as a specialist center for addiction prevention, supporting people with addictions and their families in the Groß-Gerau district.

  • Personal donation handover
In mid-December, the two authorized signatories in Darmstadt, Moritz Desch and Christoph Schulze, ceremoniously presented the donation check to Knut Kiepe from Freundeskreis. In a personal exchange, it became clear how important such contributions are for the work of the specialist counseling center.
  • Help that makes a difference
The Freundeskreis für Suchtkrankenhilfe e. V. offers free and confidential counseling for those affected and their families. Individual, couple, and family counseling sessions are offered at locations in Mörfelden-Walldorf and Riedstadt. In addition, the specialist center for addiction prevention strengthens the social skills of children, young people, and their caregivers and promotes a healthy attitude.
  • Committed to the region
For over 40 years, the association has been a reliable partner for local authorities, schools, clubs, and the Diakonisches Werk. CSZ is delighted to support this important work and make a concrete contribution to helping those affected in the region.

CSZ Building Physics: Groundbreaking ceremony for the new culture and sports hall in Schöllkrippen

The official groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of a project that will strengthen sports, culture, and community in Schöllkrippen in the long term. Together with Mayor Marc Babo, representatives of the municipality, and the planning partners, the foundation stone for the new culture and sports hall was laid.

The hall will offer space for up to 800 people and will become a central meeting place for club activities, school and sports activities, and cultural events. Around 70 clubs, numerous students, and the entire community will benefit from the new infrastructure. The adjacent middle school also actively uses the hall for physical education classes.

CSZ Ingenieurconsult Bauphysik GmbH & Co. KG is responsible for the complete range of services for thermal, sound, and room acoustics. In addition, special services such as an airtightness concept and a sound emission forecast are being implemented. The result is a building that is not only functional, but also energy-efficient, acoustically high-quality, and comfortable for all users.

We are delighted to be part of this forward-looking project and to be helping to shape the quality of life in Schöllkrippen in a sustainable way.

CSZ at the topping-out ceremony for the Eppelheim fire station – a gleaming shell for the future

CSZ at the topping-out ceremony for the Eppelheim fire station – a gleaming shell for the future

Mid-November, a cold evening – but the atmosphere was warm: over 100 guests stood in front of the shell of the new extension to the fire station in Eppelheim, which was illuminated by blue and red LED lights. The marching band of the volunteer fire department lent the topping-out ceremony a festive atmosphere in which tradition and modernity came together harmoniously.
Commander Christoph Horsch thanked the dedicated firefighters, the city administration, and the Ecker architectural firm for their excellent cooperation. Mayor Matthias Kutsch emphasized the indispensable role of the volunteer fire department and assured the city’s support even in times of tight budgets.

The highlight of the evening was the traditional topping-out speech by Andreas Scheuermann (Altenbach company) from the scaffolding. The smashing of the wine glass not only marked the completion of the shell construction phase, but also wished good luck and protection for the construction project and its future users.
While the guests ended the evening with mulled wine and sausages, work continues in the background: Renovation work in the basement of the existing building will start in January, and the extension will be completed at the same time.

CSZ was responsible for structural design in this project and looks forward to continuing its good cooperation with all parties involved.
