A day for a good cause – Mr. Irendeli volunteers at CSZ Darmstadt

On 24 June, Mr. Irendeli spent a special day at CSZ Darmstadt – not only to learn, but also to do good. He received remuneration for his work, all of which will be donated to charity.

Mr. Irendeli had already gained an insight into various areas of the company during his two-week student internship at CSZ. It quickly became clear that he was interested in becoming a draughtsman. On his own initiative, he asked if he could work at CSZ again for a day. This day gave him the opportunity to get to know the team of draughtsmen better and gain practical experience. Under supervision, he took on his first tasks with programs such as Revit and AutoCAD. The result was an ideal mix of practical learning, work experience and social commitment – because his efforts benefit a good cause.

CSZ supports this initiative with great commitment. The campaign is part of the “Aktion Tagwerk: Dein Einsatz zeigt Wirkung” campaign, which is recommended by the Ministry of Education and aims to establish the day of action as a fixed part of the school year. The proceeds from the campaign will go towards long-term projects in Rwanda and Uganda, which will be implemented together with the Human Help Network e.V. and local partners. For CSZ, the combination of promoting young talent and social commitment is a matter close to its heart.

LOOP5 – How engineers make Germany’s first retail entertainment shopping center possible

What happens when shopping meets adrenaline? At LOOP5 in Weiterstadt near Darmstadt, this question has been answered impressively: The former shopping center has been transformed into Germany’s first retailtainment shopping center – a place where shopping becomes an attraction. With highlights such as the 16-metre-high Free-Fall Tower, impressive slides and a climbing course, LOOP5 delights families, adventure-seekers and shopping fans alike.

Behind the successful implementation was a complex engineering task. The CSZ team was respon-sible for structural design and building physics consulting right from the start. The challenge: to safely integrate new worlds of experience into the existing building – and to do so during ongoing operations.

Hamed Mohsenzadegan, Managing Engineer Construction Engineering at CSZ, was involved in the project from the outset and provides valuable insights in this interview:

  • Technical challenges: How large ceiling breakthroughs, new loads and the combination of differ-ent materials placed special demands on the structural design.
  • Innovative structural solutions: Which new construction methods, materials and designs were used to implement the retailtainment concept in a technically safe and flexible way.
  • Teamwork is key: why close collaboration with architects, technical building services, lighting de-sign and other specialist disciplines was crucial in order to implement safe and flexible solutions under time pressure.

👉  The interview provides practical inspiration – ideal for engineers, planners and anyone interest-ed in sophisticated structural design and future-oriented retail architecture.

CSZ Green Engineering – Part 2: Sustainable planning with LCA, LCCA & ESG

We use LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and LCCA (Life-cycle cost analysis) to analyze projects holistically – from planning to dismantling. This creates transparency, meets international standards (DGNB, LEED, EU taxonomy) and strengthens investment security.

🌱 We see sustainability not as an obligation, but as an opportunity: for more transparency, better quality and long-term benefits – ecologically, economically and socially.

🎬 What can you expect in video 2?

  • Why sustainable planning starts before the first line is drawn,
  • How we create measurable sustainability with LCA, LCCA & ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria,
  • Why certifications are more than just a label – and offer real added value.
  • ➡ Take a look now: compact, well-founded and with practical insights into our work at CSZ Green Engineering.

CSZ at the BASF Firmencup 2025 – Team spirit at the Hockenheimring

At the 21st BASF Firmencup on June 3, 2025, the legendary Hockenheimring once again became a stage for top sporting performance – and right in the middle of it all: the CSZ team. With a lot of energy, ambition and, above all, strong team spirit, 20 motivated colleagues took to the starting line to master the 5.2-kilometre Grand Prix circuit.
The result: an impressive performance that clearly showed that teamwork at CSZ does not end at the office door. Whether on the race track or in everyday working life – our team spirit makes the difference.
In the midst of tens of thousands of participants from the entire Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, the CSZ team not only impressed with its endurance and sporting commitment, but also with strong individual performances: Special mention should be made of Tim Oehler, who finished 82nd overall with a time of 19:03 minutes – a great achievement!
A big thank you to everyone who took part – for your commitment, your enthusiasm and your sporting spirit. For us, the BASF Company Cup was much more than just a run: it was a powerful symbol of cohesion, energy and common goals.
On the move with team spirit – athletically, professionally and always looking ahead.#TogetherStrongCSZ #TOGETHERBuilding the future
