The “CSZ Cyclists”: With drive and fun at the CITY CYCLING event in Darmstadt

This year, 18 colleagues covered an impressive distance of 4,527 kilometers in the CITY CYCLING event in Darmstadt. The team, who call themselves the “CSZ cyclists”, saved 751.5 kg of CO₂ under the motto “Cycling for a good climate” and thus made an important contribution to environmental protection and sustainable mobility.
With a total of 338 rides, the “CSZ cyclists” achieved 28th place out of 188 teams in the overall ranking of the city of Darmstadt, with each team covering an average of 252 kilometers. This result reflects the strong commitment and positive energy that all team members contributed.
A big thank you goes to everyone who took part for their commitment, motivation and enthusiasm. 💚 You are an inspiring example of shared commitment and sustainability! 🚴‍♀️ The “CSZ Cyclists” team is already looking forward to the next round of “Cycling for a good climate” and to more exciting kilometers in the coming year.

CSZ Darmstadt: Insights into pioneering construction projects for students at TU Darmstadt

On July 1, 2024, CSZ Darmstadt opened its doors for an exclusive career exploration at its headquarters. Students from Faculty 13 – Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt were warmly welcomed to gain in-depth insights into outstanding civil engineering projects.
The event not only provided a platform to introduce the company structure and working methods of CSZ engineers, but also the opportunity to get to know some remarkable reference projects. Highlights included the DFB Campus in Frankfurt am Main, the futuristic hybrid high-rise “The Spin”, a bridge renovation project for Fraport AG, Merck’s modern Learning Center in Darmstadt and the new construction of a family center with integrated daycare in Stadtallendorf
The presentation was led by representative figures from the CSZ, including Ms. Gülcan Subasi (Director CSZ Ingenieurconsult Bauphysik), Mr. Moritz Desch (Authorized Representative), Mr. Mike Rösch (Managing Partner) and Mr. Christoph Schwinn (Project Engineer Construction Engineering). The event offered the students a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from the industry and gain practical insights into their academic training.
CSZ Darmstadt looks back on an inspiring and informative afternoon with the future specialists from the Technical University of Darmstadt and looks forward to future collaborations.

Bridge renovation in Biblis: CSZ replaces bearings on the Weschnitz Bridge

As part of extensive maintenance measures, CSZ replaced the bearings of the Weschnitz Bridge on Bürstädter Straße, Biblis, in June. The decision to replace the existing roller bearings was made due to severe corrosion, which was significantly impairing their functionality.
To replace the bearings, the entire bridge superstructure was raised by a few millimetres to relieve the existing bearings and prepare for the removal. After removal, new elastomer bearings were installed. CSZ carried out the static calculations in order to select the optimum bearings for the specific requirements. Planning and execution were carried out in close cooperation with the construction company carrying out the work.
This measure is part of a comprehensive infrastructure maintenance program and contributes significantly to the long-term safety and functionality of the Weschnitz Bridge. CSZ is continuously committed to the modernization and maintenance of bridge structures in order to meet current and future requirements.

CSZ at the BASF Corporate Cup 2024: A strong team in action!

At the beginning of June, thousands of runners from 570 companies gathered at the Hockenheimring to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the BASF Company Cup. With ideal running weather and a great atmosphere, this was the perfect opportunity to be active together.
The CSZ team once again proved that it is not only a strong team in everyday working life, but also in sport. The 25 “freewheeling engineers” impressively demonstrated how team spirit and fun can help to overcome personal boundaries: Every single one of them lapped the Grand Prix circuit of the Hockenheimring with flying colors.
